David Adams:
An English teacher in Dundee High and then in Arbroath Academy, joined the Angus County Council Directorate in the 1970s, was Assistant DEO in the Dundee Division of Tayside before becoming Principal of Aberdeen College, then Northern College, retiring in 2002.
Val Gilchrist:
A qualified accountant, has lived and worked abroad. Currently Lecturer in Accountancy in Robert Gordon University
Gayle Gorman (current Chair):
Trained in Scotland as a primary teacher, taught in England before joining DfE, latterly as National Senior Director. Returned to Scotland as Aberdeen City’s Director of Education and Children’s Services. Appointed Chief Inspector of Education and Chief Executive of Education Scotland in December 2017.
Gavin Ross:
A qualified architect, undertook post-graduate work in the USA, then worked in the public sector before joining the world of academia, becoming Principal of Edinburgh School of Art, then Depute Principal of Robert Gordon University. Retired around 2001.
Ivor Sutherland:
A Modern Languages teacher, taught in Aberdeen before becoming a lecturer in Teacher Education Institutions in Northern Ireland and Scotland. Appointed to the Education Directorate, first in Sutherland, later in Highland Region. Became Chief Executive/Registrar of the GTC (Scotland) in 1985 and retired in 2001.
Bruce Pandrich:
Started working life in banking in London, then an English teacher at Monifieth High School, Assistant Principal Teacher at Webster’s High School and Principal Teacher of English at Perth High School. Depute Head Teacher at Montrose Academy with a secondment as a Quality Improvement Officer. Now Head Teacher at Arbroath High School.
